Parade Practice Begins Wednesday

Sunday, June 25 2006

Band students are due back at school for parade practice beginning Wednesday, June 28. Please note the new start time, 7:30 a.m., earlier than previous practices. Students will need a hat, sunglasses, light-colored shirt, shorts, socks, white tennis shoes, sunscreen, DCT lip balm (available at Walgreen's), and at least a half-gallon water jug. All students must eat a nutritious breakfast (remember heat and dairy products don't mix) and drink plenty of water before rehearsal begins. If you wish to bring a mid-morning snack, you will have a few minutes to eat between the outside marching rehearsal and the inside music rehearsal. If any student checked out a marching instrument during the last rehearsals, please make sure you bring that instrument back to school Wednesday morning.

Students who are having problems logging into the student services section of this website should e-mail Ron Foster at webmaster@americaneagle49.powweb.com. Band directors have requested that students download their music by the time they return for parade practice on June 28.

Major Fundraiser Takes First Step

Wednesday, June 14 2006

Thanks to the 17 people who helped with inventory at the fireworks warehouse just north of Angleton on Sunday, June 11. The band booster club will operate the store from June 24 to July 4 to earn funds for the next school year. Please come work in air conditioned comfort at the store at the intersection of Hwy. 288 and Business 288. To volunteer and commit to a shift, contact Chris Sweeney at 281-488-5842 or Julie Lierman at 281-484-5141. Don't worry if you don't feel qualified because you have never been around fireworks.  We provide training as needed, but honestly the fireworks sell themselves.

Web Site News Back Up and Running

Tuesday, June 13 2006

Our website server made some changes recently that caused a few glitches, but we are gradually restoring the site. The Tuesday Note should be back in business shortly. Meanwhile, students should continue to register with the webmaster in the student services section to obtain the first three movements of the fall music. All students are expected to have the updated parts when they return for parade practice on June 28.
