Band Council Car Wash Planned for Saturday

Band council is having its first car wash fundraiser of the year this Saturday, July 29 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Riley's Donuts on Clear Lake City Boulevard. All band students are encouraged to come out to have fun and wash cars. Parents, please bring us your dirty cars!Marching Season Gets Rolling

Mandatory marching rehearsals begin next week on Wednesday, July 26. In the meantime, students should spend some time outside and stay in shape. They should be gathering supplies, such as DCT, a six-inch spiral binder, etc. before the Aug. 1 deadline. The order form for the band fee and other band equipment is posted on the website's forms sections. Please download and send the form and bring payment to band practice. School starts Thursday, Aug. 10, and the band family social will be that evening. Make plans to attend!Plans for the Fourth of July Announced

Students marching in the Independence Day parade are to meet at the Friendswood post office on Morningside Drive (just off FM 2351) at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 4. The parade begins at 10 a.m. near the intersection of FM 2351 and FM 518, and the band travels down FM 518 to the Friendswood City Park. Parents can pick up their kids at the park after the parade around 11 a.m. The game drinks committee is bringing water for the kids. The booster club still needs workers for Monday and Tuesday at the fireworks store near Angleton. Parents who are not going to the parade, please consider working a few hours for the band.July 2006
